Every year countless people make a personal pledge that on January 1st they will eat better, exercise, and be healthier. Gyms are packed almost everywhere. Gym owners love this time of year as their member bases swell. Regular gym goers are annoyed by the influx of “resolutioners.” All in all it's a great time in the fitness business.
Unfortunately a vast majority of the people who make a New Year’s Resolution will not be successful. I tell my clients who are irritated by the sudden influx of people that they only need to deal with it until Valentine’s Day. By that time most people have quit their resolution, gyms go back to regular usage, and countless people have failed to make meaningful change to their health.
I want 2016 to be different. I want you to succeed, so I put together a few tips to help make 2016 different. The following are 5 tips to help you make your 2016 New Year’s Resolution stick.
If you follow these 5 tips you will be able to look up on Valentine’s Day and see that you made it. Chances are by that time, with consistent workouts, you will also be able to look in the mirror and see your progress!
Remember fitness is a journey not a destination. Celebrate your small successes and watch as they compound into amazing results. Strive to be better today than yesterday!
